guided international travelers across East Africa, navigated unpredictable terrain, and carried real responsibility for guest safety and experience. He experienced the safari industry from the inside.
He witnessed breathtaking moments, sunrise game drives, families seeing wildlife for the first time, and the pride of local communities welcoming visitors. But he also saw the inconsistencies.

and disciplined oversight. At the same time, he never disconnected from Africa. Today, Philips regularly returns to Africa with his own family. Experiencing safari as a husband and father reshaped his perspective. It was no longer about guiding guests — it was about safety, clarity, transparency, and legacy.
